The Nunavut Research Institute (NRI) is proud to release new reports on research trends from 2004 to 2019, for all communities in Nunavut!

You can download the community reports here:

https://straightupnorth.ca/research-trends-in-nunavut/

The reports were created in partnership with researchers from McMaster University and Carleton University, and they explain where research in happening in and near each community, what topics are being studied, who is conducting the research, how Nunavummiut are involved, and how the results of research are communicated and shared.  We also provide information on the NRI’s research licensing process, researchers’ responsibilities, and community members’ rights in research.  The reports focus on research in the health, social, and natural sciences disciplines which is licensed by the NRI under Nunavut's Scientists Act.

We hope that you will find the information in these reports useful. If you have any questions about the reports or would like more information about Nunavut’s licensing process or about research happening in your community, please contact us at any time.
