The Nunavut Research Institute is pleased to once again partner with Actua Science, Canada's leading STEM outreach organization, to deliver a science education camp for Iqaluit youth aged 7 to 12 from July 20–24, 2026.
The camp starts at 9:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm each day. Campers return home for lunch each day.
Camp Qupannuaq offers young Iqalungmiut a dynamic, hands-on learning experience that combines science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with community-based knowledge and mentorship. Throughout the week, participants will explore how light and sound travel through the environment, learn about map use and navigation, discover the importance of brain health, and take part in many other fun activities, including building and launching film canister rockets.
Space in Camp Qupannuaq is extremely limited, and registration is now open. To register, please complete a camp registration form and submit it by email to igima.rojas@arcticcollege.ca as soon as possible. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for applicants who submit completed and signed registration forms.
Families of selected participants will receive a confirmation email from the Nunavut Research Institute with additional information about the camp.
